Back Close to Home this Weekend!!
Bristol, WI – September 18, 2014. Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports team hit the road again last weekend as they were set to take on the World of Outlaws. The first stop was in Spencer, IA at the Clay County Fairgrounds for the Arnold Motor Supply Shootout. The night started off with Bill laying down the 10th fastest lap of the thirty-two cars in attendance setting him up with a 2nd place starting position in the heat race. When the green flag flew Bill would shoot out into the lead over Tim Kaeding looking to pick up a heat race victory to transfer into the dash, but the engine would expire around the halfway mark sending the 17B back to the trailer. The team trashed to get the spare engine in for the B-main in which they did, but more issues surfaced and they were unable to take the green ending the night.
Saturday night the team headed to Spring Valley, MN to the Deer Creek Speedway for the ASGROW/DEKALB “Clash at the Creek”. Bill would qualify in the 14th position of the thirty-three cars on hand setting him up to start on the pole in the heat race. When the green flag flew Bill would charge into the first turn side by side with Terry McCarl, but McCarl carried he momentum on the outside taking the lead with Bill following in 2nd where he would finish and transfer into the feature. Starting 15th in the feature, Bill would make his way forward to the 9th position, but a late race restart shuffled him back to finish in the 12th position.
Bill and the B2 Motorsports team make the short trek to the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI this Saturday night. Bill has competed at the third-mile oval three times in 2014, two with the Interstate Racing Association producing finishes of 3rd and 4th and once with the World of Outlaws in which he won the Dash and led a good portion of the feature before falling back to finish in the 9th position.
