Bill Balog and B2 Motorsports: Perfect at Plymouth
Union Grove, WI – September 11, 2012. Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports team headed up to Plymouth, WI this past weekend to the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds for the annual Filskov Memorial. Bill would start out the night at the top of the qualifying charts as he would lay down a lap of 11.709 seconds around the tight bullring. Lining up in the sixth starting position of the first heat race, Bill would make his way forward at the drop of the green and settle into the 3rd position. The red flag would come out as two cars would collide on the fourth lap allowing the field to bunch up for a restart. On the restart Bill would quickly dispose of Jereme Schroeder and set his sights on Kris Spitz. A lap later Bill would make his way under Spitz into the lead and run away to a convincing victory. Bill would draw the #2 pill for the feature invert lining him up in the fourth starting position behind the front row of Scotty Neitzel and Phillip Mock and alongside Mike Kertscher. When the green flag came out Bill would make his way past Mock and chase Neitzel and Kertscher. Soon Bill would make his way around Kertscher and begin stalking Neitzel for the lead. On lap eight Bill would overtake Neitzel when the pair got into lap traffic. From that point on Bill would flawlessly make his way through lap traffic until the checkered flag flew on lap twenty-seven in honor of Filskov to his record setting 17th victory of the 2012 season ahead on Kertscher and Mike Reinke. This was Balog’s second clean sweep of 2012 and the team won all three of the features at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in 2012.
With only two races remaining in 2012 for the Interstate Racing Association, Bill now holds a 255 point advantage over Mike Reinke in the standings as the series heads into this weekend’s lone event. On Saturday, September 22nd, the team will head to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI for the Jim Wipperfurth Memorial. In 2012, Bill and the B2 Motorsports team has picked up a victory at the facility back in May, finished 3rd in June, and finished 12th in July with the World of Outlaws. The following weekend on Saturday, September 29th, the team will head back to Beaver Dam, WI to the Dodge County Fairgrounds for the Dick Witt Checkered Classic and the IRA Season Finale.
